When using an angular camera that is more open, it is best to never use the DOF, but the smaller the lens, the more closed, the more the Depth of Field effect positively highlights your image!
To use this effect in 3Ds Max is very simple, just follow these steps:
- With the camera you want to use this effect selected, slide the sidebar until you find the DOF & Motion Blur tab
- In Depth of Field select the option Enable and Override Focus
- Select that the focus is on the object, for that select object
- On the button next to it that says none, select it and try to select the object you want to be the focus.
Ready that way the focus of the camera will already be on the selected point! And the rest around you will have a level of focus.
